The Acre-class destroyers were a class of six destroyers built during World War II for the Brazilian Navy. The ships were built in Brazil to a modified British design to complement the six H-class destroyers in the Brazilian Navy. The ships were built in Brazilian shipyards to allow the British shipyards to work on vessels for the Royal Navy. The ships received a refit in the early 1960s with new electronics and the no. 2 gun being replaced by a 40mm Bofors mounting. Two ships were decommissioned in 1964 and the remaining four in 1973/4.
