The Arromanches-class aircraft carriers are class of warship in the Marine Nationale from the 1950s to the early 1990s. They are the first indigenous aircraft carriers built and operated by the French after World War II. However, all of them were small and increasingly incapable of operating modern aircraft, which were steadily increasing in size. In the 1960s, they were replaced by the much more capable Clemenceau-class aircraft carriers.
