The Buffalo AF F-59/44 was the first American jet fighter aircraft, designed and built by Bethpage Aircraft Factory during World War II. The American People's Army Air Force adopted the aircraft in 1944, and variants of the aircraft were still in service with the People's Air Guard until 1970.
