The Fairchild Defense Industries M-16/70 rifle is the main service rifle of the Union of American People's Republics and other countries of the Wake Island Association. The rifle is adapted for semi-automatic, three-round burst, and full-automatic fire, using the American 5.56×45mm cartridge. The rifle entered American People's Army service in 1970, becoming the American military's standard service rifle by 1976.
