Gwadar State is a state of BritishIndia, located on a peninsula on the coast of Balochistan, bordering Makran. The state consists of the city of Gwadar and the surrounding hinterland. Gwadar was formerly a colonial possession of Oman, until it was ceded to the British Empire in 1958.
