The HMAS Protector (RO A304) is the first of Australia's four Protector-class fast combat support ships in service in the Royal Australian Navy from the mid-1970s onwards. It was ordered in 1971 as a replacement of the aging HMAS Westralia and work started in early 1972. The Protector was launched in late 1976 and commissioned in mid-1977.
- This is based on the originally planned version of the HMAS Protector which was cancelled in OTL in 1974.
