The Jacob van Heemskerck-class frigate was a class of frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy. They were built to be an air defence version of the Kortenaer-class frigate. The helicopter was replaced by a Sea Dart medium range SAM system and associated radars. A quartet of ships were built for the Royal Netherlands Navy. In 2005 a quartet were built for the Chilean Navy.
