The Project 48 Kiev-class destroyers are a class of warship designed in 1939 for the Soviet Navy as a smaller class of destroyer leaders after the Tashkent-class. All fourteen ships would be built and enter service throughout the latter years of World War II. They would continue to service throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
