The L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle, also known by the Canadian Army designation C1, or as the SLR, is a British Commonwealth derivative of the Belgian FN FAL battle rifle, produced under licence. It is currently in use in the armies of Australia and New Zealand and being phased out of the Canadian and British armies.

The L1A1 is predominantly fitted for the .280 British round.

The L1A1 SLR was adopted alongside the Enfield EN-2 Jenson Bullpup Assault Rifle and the Taden Light-Machine Gun.

All four countries who used the L1A1 have plans to replace the aging rifle. In Australia and New Zealand, these plans have not advanced beyond the research phase; however, Canada and Britain are both replacing the L1A1 with Prairie Gun Works' C15 Grizzly under the Small Arms Replacement Project and Future Forces Programme, respectively, beginning in 2014.
