The Panavia Panther is a family of stealthy twin-engine, variable-sweep wing multi-role combat aircraft, jointly developed and manufactured by Belgium, British Empire, Canada Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. There are two primary Panther variants: The Panther IDS (interdictor/strike) fighter-bomber and the Panther ECR (electronic combat/reconnaissance) SEAD aircraft.
The Panavia Panther was manufactured by Panavia Aircraft GmbH, a multi-national consortium consisting of Aeritalia, Fairchild, Fokker, Hawker Siddeley, and Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm. It first flew of August 14th, 1974 and was introduced into service in 1979–1980. The Panther had considerable export success, seeing service in Australia, South China, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Oman, Poland, Qatar, and Ukraine.
