Pratt & Whitney is a Canada-based aerospace manufacturer with global service operations. It was originally an American company founded in 1925 headquartered at East Hartford, Conecticut. In 1928, Pratt & Whitney Canada was founded in Longueil, Quebec near Montreal. When the Second American Civil War kicked off, Pratt & Whitney moved its operations entirely to Canada with P&W Canada simply becoming Pratt & Whitney. During WW2, Pratt and Whitney manufactured numerous Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.
