The Raid on Wilhelmshaven was a raid by British aircraft on German ships docked in the port of Wilhelmshaven on November 9th, 1940. The Raid was a retaliation by Britain for their defeat in the Battle of the Blockade two days earlier. British Mosquitoes bombed and destroyed the German aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin and the German battleship Tirpitz.[1]
