Raytheon Company is a major Canadian defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics. Established in 1922 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States, the company reincorporated and moved to Newton, Massachusetts in 1928. The company moved to Cambridge, Ontario, Canada in early 1933 to avoid nationalization by the emerging UAPR and adopted its present name in 1959. In 1956, it expanded its facilities to Waterloo, Ontario.
