The Republic of Georgia (Georgian: საქართველოს რესპუბლიკის, Sakartvelos Respublikis) is an unrecognized government-in-exile which claims the territory of the Georgian SSR in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Georgia has been involved in an independence struggle against the Soviet Union since the late 1980s.
