The SEPECAT Jaguar is an Anglo/French attack aircraft that served in the Royal Air Force, French Air Force, and Marine Nationale in the close air support role.
Originally conceived in the 1960s as a jet trainer with a light ground attack capability, the requirement for the aircraft soon changed to include supersonic performance and reconnaissance capability. A carrier based version entered French service alongside the Dassault Super Étendard. The airframes were manufactured by SEPECAT (Société Européenne de Production de l'avion Ecole de Combat et d'Appui Tactique), a joint venture between Breguet and English Electric.
The Jaguar was exported to South China, Ecuador, Greece, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Portugal, Thailand, and Turkey.
