The Saab 38 Falk was a single engine jet trainer and attack aircraft developed and manufactured by Saab as a replacement for the aging Saab 105 jet trainers in the mid-to-late 1970s. It first flew in 1983 and entered service in 1986.

Ideas from the Falk would be incorporated into the Saab JAS 39 Gripen multirole fighter.
