The Supermarine Spiteful is a twin-engine, two-seat, supermanoeuverable, multi-role fighter which is designed to perform stealth missions. The Spiteful was designed by Supermarine Aviation Works and Avro Canada between 1989 and 1998, flying for the first time in 1996 and entering into service in 1999, beginning with the Royal Air Force. It has since been adopted by the Royal Canadian Air Force as the CF-190, but due to the high per-unit cost and concerns of the British Parliament, no other export contracts have materialized.

The high cost and the extended development cycle of the aircraft along with some issues after introduction prevented it from fully replacing the Mosquito II in Allied service as had originally been intended. The production run is planned to end in 2020, after some 358 aircraft have been produced, with around two-thirds serving in the Royal Air Force.

There are currently no further plans to develop stealth aircraft by any of the Allied powers due to the cost of production and a perceived lack of usefulness, and reports have surfaced that the American project to develop a counterpart has been shelved for similar reasons.

The Spiteful is armed with a wide variety of weapons systems, and is able to perform several roles, though its primary role is as an interceptor.
