The Takao-class air defence destroyers are a class of ship that entered service with the Republic of Japan Navy in 2020. They are 562 feet (171.3 meters) in length, and have a standard and full load displacement of 8,200 and 11,400 tons respectively. They are a replacement of the aging Hatakaze-class destroyers.
