The Tanque Argentino Mediano (TAM; English: Argentine Medium Tank) is a medium tank in service with the Argentine People's Army. Lacking the experience and resources to design a tank, the Argentine Ministry of Defense contracted the Detroit Tank Arsenal. The vehicle was developed by an American and Argentine team of engineers, and was based on the M-2/81 infantry fighting vehicle chassis. The TAM has been exported to Arabia, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Iraq, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela.
