Thành Trung is a planned city under construction on Chân Mây Bay in central Vietnam, intended to replace Hanoi as the capital upon its completion. It is located between Vietnam's third-largest city, Da Nang, and the historic Nguyen Dynasty capital Huế, and roughly equidistant to the largest city, Saigon, and the second-largest city and current capital, Hanoi. The reasons for moving the capital are to relieve congestion and to have the government in a more central location.
