HMS Boreas (F98)

British frigate HMS Boreas (F98) conducts an underway replenishment while on station in the Persian Gulf in support of the Southwest Asia build-up.

The Type 22 Frigate (or Broadsword-class) was a class of frigate built for the British Royal Navy. Forty-two ships of the class were built in total, with production divided into three batches.

Sixteen ships of the first and second batches have been sold to the Brazil, Chilean, Cuban, Polish, Romanian and Thai navies. Poland would also build a pair of Block III Type 22 frigates under license.
