The Union-class battleships were a class of heavy warship use in the American People's Navy from late World War II onwards after the disastrous failure of the Iowa-class battleships. The Union-class were between the South Dakota and Iowa-class battleships in terms of size. At least half a dozen Union-class ships were built although only five were eventually kept in service.[1]
