The Velvet Glove was a short-range semi-active RDF homing air-to-air missile designed by CARDE and produced by Canadair starting in 1953. Despite delays, the Velvet Glove would enter production and be used by the Royal Canadian Air Force aboard the CF-103 Canuck II and CF-105 Arrow. Later versions of the Velvet Glove had active RDF homing as electronics and RDF became smaller and more powerful. The Velvet Glove would also be adapted for use as a ship based anti-aircraft missile.
