The Wolseong Nuclear Generating Station (Korean: 월성원자력발전소, 月城原子力發電所, Wolseong Wonjalyeog Baljeonso) is a nuclear power plant located on the coast near Gyeongju, Gyeongsang, Korea. It is the only Korean nuclear power plant operating pressurized heavy water reactors. These reactors are capable of consuming multiple types of fuel, including wastes from Korea's other nuclear plants. Construction of Wolseong started in 1976, and the first reactor was completed in 1982. The four PHWR reactors each have a nameplate capacity of 700 MWe. Two OPR-1000 light water reactors commenced operation in 2015.
