Zere Selassie (Ge'ez: ዘርአ ሥላሴ; born 17 August, 1953) is the current Emperor of Ethiopia and head of the Solomonid Dynasty. Born Zera Yacob Amha Selassie (Ge'ez: ዘርአ ያዕቆብ አምሃ ሥላሴ), Zere is the son of Emperor Amha Selassie and grandson of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. He has been Head of the Imperial House of Ethiopia since February 17th 1997.
